Great Reed warbler

An early morning start to see the Great Reed Warbler at Straw Bridge NR, Ilkeston. This very vocal, large Warbler was mobile and at times extremely elusive. In a four hour period it only showed well on three brief occasions .

A good rarity week with White-spotted Bluethroat at Welney and a Red-rumped Swallow at Ferry Meadows. Since no photos were possible I had to make do with this Meadow Pipit at Nene Washes
