Little Owl in Norfolk

A Little Owl watching over its Chick which had just been blown into a patch of Brambles by a sudden gust of wind

Nene Washes

Eldernell Washes produced two calling Corncrakes, one 200 yards West of the car park and the other 300 yards before Lord's Holt.
Low Washes showed a few drumming Snipe and the Black-tailed Godwits above

No Photo Opportunities

During a two week period starting on 27 May 08 six first class birds were seen including two Megas and four lifers. Rutland Water had both Stilt and Marsh Sandpiper.Then a Trumpeter Finch at Blakeney followed by Icterine Warbler (Whitchford) and Thrush Nightingale( Dunwich Heath),and to finish off a Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Maxey Pits. All these and not one photo opportunity due to reasons of distance and sulkiness( on the part of the bird)

A day at Minsmere

Swallow
A full day at Minsmere with Chris and Anne Orders showed 76 species including Bittern, Dartford Warbler, Little Tern and Mediterranean Gulls.Good views were had of both Nightingale and Cetti's Warbler. First male Orange Tip of the year also seen
